"I know of no pleasure deeper than that which comes from contemplating the natural world and trying to understand it" (Sir David Attenborough).

Today we send our warmest wishes to Sir David Attenborough, the godfather of natural history broadcasting, as he celebrates his 100th birthday.
A champion of the natural world, Sir David’s storytelling has shaped generations of scientists, conservationists, and policymakers. Through decades of broadcasting, writing and advocacy, he has reminded – and continues to remind – audiences across the globe that knowledge, responsibility, and hope must go hand in hand.
At JNCC, Sir David’s lifelong commitment to the natural world inspire our work for people and the rest of nature. For decades, his storytelling has helped millions connect with nature – not just through wonder, but through a deeper understanding of why it matters and what must be done to protect it.
