6210 Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia) (* important orchid sites)
This site hosts the priority habitat type "orchid rich sites". Devil’s Dyke consists of a mosaic of CG3 Bromus erectus and CG5 Bromus erectusBrachypodium pinnatum calcareous grasslands. It is the only known UK semi-natural dry grassland site for lizard orchid Himantoglossum hircinum.
