Royal Botanic Gardens Kew

Kew's learning programme offers opportunities for students at all stages in education. From curriculum visits for students to specialist training courses for science, horticulture and conservation professionals and informal talks and courses for adult learners.

Kew offers many learning opportunities for schools, students and teachers. School visit programmes cover all stages of education and CPD courses are designed for primary and secondary teachers.

ARKive UKOT Education Modules

ARKive's OTEP project UKOT-themed teaching resources

Three teaching resources have been created using the rich and diverse species of the Territories, the threats they face and in-situ conservation initiatives as illustrative examples. The three resources cover key science topics taught within the UK, the UKOTs and globally. By making these resources accessible to educators worldwide (as well as being of great use to educators within the territories) it is hoped that the importance of the Territories' biodiversity will be recognised by young people across the globe.

The Globe Programme

The GLOBE Programme - a unique practical environmental education project for schools linking students, teachers and scientists in 111 countries around the world, supporting Science, Geography, Maths, ICT and International relations.

The UK Overseas Territories Conservation Forum

UKOTCF Environmental Education Database

The UKOTCF Environmental Education Resources searchable database brings together information on environmental education resources which may be suitable (or easily adaptable) for use in a particular Territory. The database provides summaries and links for a wide variety of resources, including climate change, invasive species and sustainable use. More resources are continually being added. Searches can be made using criteria such as geographical region, major taxa, major ecosystems, territories and keywords. The initial development of the database was partly supported by OTEP.
