Batch Updates
Batch updates are xml files which are run in order to make
specific changes to the database. As these make changes to the
database it is generally recommended that the database is backed up
prior to running the batch update. There are currently five major
sections which group similar batch updates together. These are:
- Delete (eg deletes Records with a specified
determination type)
- Designations (eg assigns taxons to a
designation)
- Determination Updates (eg creates a new
determination for a specified taxa)
- Location Updates (eg move locations where the
system is not the custodian)
- Updates (eg corrects duplicate preferred
determinations).
The batch updates are run from the Tools Menu by choosing
Run Batch Updates. To add a batch update to your system for
use in Recorder 6 simply download the file and save it in the Batch
Updates folder of the User Files folder (usually C:\Program
Files\Recorder 6\User Files\Batch Updates).
System supplied batch updates
The following batch updates are now available for download -
note that they are all system supplied with version 6.14
onwards.
Please note that since these are xml files: you need to
right-click and choose 'Save Target As...' to
download them (double-clicking will simply open them in a
new window).
