Dorset Software is a software house specialising in bespoke
software development. We are the sole developer of Recorder 6. The
comprehensive understanding of Recorder 6 and biological recording
gained through this experience places us in an ideal position to
supply recorders with information and support on Recorder 6.
Whether you are an independent recorder or a member of a large
organisation interested in Recorder 6, we have the expertise
to:
- organise tailor made training courses to help you get started
with Recorder 6
- provide training and on-going support in using Recorder 6
- provide support on data migration from Recorder 3.3, other
recording tools or systems to Recorder 6
- help you maximise the performance of Recorder 6
- give advice on the development of add-ins and specialist area
modules in the most cost-effective manner.
Supplying Recorder 6
Standalone Licence
The cost of a standalone licence is £30.
This is the licence to install and run Recorder on a single
computer. For the first month after purchase, Dorset Software
provides unlimited fax and email installation support, plus a total
of 30 minutes telephone support.
Purchasing the stand-alone version of Recorder from Dorset
Software couldn't be simpler: all you have to do is fill in the
Recorder
Order Form on our web site and return it to Dorset Software
together with a cheque for the appropriate amount.
Network Version
The Network Version of Recorder 6 requires a certain level of IT
knowledge to install and administrate, and we recommend that the
Recorder Network version is purchased as part of a complete
package.
Dorset Software offers packages based on
individual requirements, your IT skills and the level of ongoing
support you require. Packages start from £626 + VAT. Please contact
us via email for further detail.
Support
Standalone Support
Thirty minutes of installation support is provided with the
Standalone licence which is valid for the first month after
purchase. Following this support is provided under the model
described below for Network Support.
Network Support
Dorset Software provides advanced support with an initial
response time of 3 working days. This support is best suited to
either network version administrators or business users. We offer a
high level of technical expertise, with guaranteed response times.
Support is provided by phone or email. Our initial response is to
acknowledge the call. We charge per 15 minutes for time spent
investigating calls, with a minimum of 30 minutes per call. This
includes time spent on the phone or answering emails.
Our clients purchases a fixed amount of
investigation time, valid for use within a 6 month period. If that
support time is exhausted before the 6 month period has expired,
the client has the option to purchase a further quantity of support
time. After the first 6 month period, additional support is
purchased on a yearly basis.
Support can be purchase in 2 hour blocks at
£125 per hour plus VAT or in 5 hour blocks at £100 per hour plus
VAT
