Recognition for JNCC experts

The invaluable work of two of JNCC’s experts, David Stroud and David Connor, has been recognised.

Senior Ornithological Adviser David Stroud received an MBE in the New Year Honours list for his work on trends in bird populations, in particular the ecology of Greenland white-fronted geese.

Head of Marine Habitats David Connor has been awarded the ICES Service Award in recognition of his work during the last six years as Chair of ICES Working Group on Marine Habitat Mapping. ICES is the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea. It coordinates the scientific work of more than 1,600 marine scientists from the 20 ICES member countries bordering the North Atlantic and Baltic Sea.
