Supply, Support and Training
Recorder 6 is supplied, not directly from the Joint
Nature Conservation Commitee (JNCC), but through a number of JNCC approved
Recorder experts. Recorder experts are also able to offer a
range of services such as support, training and customisation. The Recorder
Wiki and the
Forum provide further
sources of information and the latter also provides support and
problem solving directly from the recording community. The growing
number of guides and tutorials, found in the Documentation section
of this website, provide opportunities for
self-training.
Approved Recorder Experts:
The JNCC approved Recorder experts supply Recorder
6 and provide support and training as well as
additional services such as data transfer, customised
installations and the development of larger projects.

Supply of Recorder 6
Recorder 6 is supplied through a number of JNCC
approved Recorder experts. The cost of the software, for both
network and standalone versions, is around £30 depending on the
source and can be purchased with a range of levels of technical
support to meet your requirements.
Support
Technical support is available to Recorder
users free of charge from the Forum and is also provided
at a range of prices by the approved Recorder experts. The Forum
provides direct access to the recording community and as a result
is an invaluable source of advice for problems and issues as well
as being a focal point for announcements and discussion
on upcoming enhancements. It is well used by the recording
community and is also supported by JNCC, the
approved Recorder experts and Dorset Software. Technical
support from the approved Recorder experts is tailored to meet
individual requirements and ranges from free guidance on
installation to hourly rates, yearly contracts and bespoke
customised products.
Training
There is a growing number of written guides and
tutorials covering a range of specific areas of functionality
within Recorder as well as the main User Guide and Getting
Started Guide on the installation DVD. These guides and tutorials
are all available in the Documentation section of this website. In
addition, the approved Recorder experts offer a range of training
courses tailored to meet individual requirements, skill
levels and budgets. These include basic training for new users
(usually taught over two days) and advanced training which both
cost from £34 to £150 +VAT per person, per
day (prices are based on a group of 10 sharing) as well as
bespoke courses.
Additional Services
In addition to the supply of Recorder 6, support and
training the approved Recorder experts are also able to provide a
number of more specialised services. These include
provision of customised interfaces, addins and reports as well as
assistance with data transfer, integrating Recorder data with other
applications and developing larger projects and web
applications.
