Your completed form should be returned to us by the closing date indicated in the details of the post for which you have applied. Forms returned by post should be sent to Personnel, JNCC Support Co, Monkstone House, City Road, Peterborough, PE1 1JY. We will acknowledge receipt of your form if you send a stamped, self addressed, postcard with it.  If you prefer to submit your form by email to we will acknowledge its receipt if requested, but you will normally automatically receive confirmation that your message has reached us.

Please give email addresses as well as postal addresses for yourself and any referees. If this is not possible, either because there is no email address or it is not secure, let us know and we will use ordinary mail.

You should obtain your referees' permission to provide their names before submitting your form.  If you have not been able to do so, indicate this on the form and let us know as soon as permission has been given.  If necessary, provide us with the name of a substitute.  Referees should be responsible persons - one with first hand knowledge of your qualifications and work experience and the other well acquainted with your private life, but not a relative.

Candidates who appear from the information supplied to have the most suitable qualifications and experience will be invited to interview.

You will normally have at least two weeks notice of the interview date.  Interviews are normally held at our office in Peterborough, but posts based at our offices in Aberdeen or Brussels may be interviewed there.  We reimburse the costs of attending an interview over and above the first £15 to a maximum of £200, but please note that these are limited to the cost of public transport unless the use of a private vehicle is cheaper or necessary for another acceptable reason. Details of what can be claimed will be sent with an invitation to interview.

If we would like you to make a presentation or in some other way prepare for the interview we will advise you when you are contacted, otherwise your interview will be with a panel of normally three members of our staff. Interviews last between thirty to 45 minutes depending on the post being recruited and should not last for any longer than an hour.  We do not normally ask a candidate to attend a second interview for the same post.

If you are offered the post a formal contract cannot be issued until we have completed various enquiries, but you are able to start work for us after an offer has been made and before a contract is issued if you wish.

All eligible staff have a choice of pension scheme, details will be provided.

If you do not hear from us within three weeks of the closing date we regret that you have not been invited to interview.  You are welcome to check with us if you are concerned that you may have been selected and the invitation to interview has been lost.  We make every effort to contact candidates who do not respond to our invitation to interview within a reasonable time, but if we cannot contact you the opportunity may be offered to another candidate.
