JNCC Consultation launched


FIVE new possible Marine Protected Areas


JNCC have launched a three month public consultation on the selection of five important possible marine protected areas (MPA) for reef habitats in Scottish offshore waters. 

The closing date for the 12 week formal consultation is 25th May 2012.

Native ladybirds displaced


Invasive alien predator causes rapid declines of European ladybirds


A new study, supported with funding from JNCC, has been published by the Centre of Ecology and Hydrology (CEH), which provides evidence of the impact of invasive ‘harlequin’ ladybirds on populations of native ladybirds.
