Profile
Diane McCrea has held a variety of non-executive positions in
the public, private and voluntary sectors. Recently she completed
her term of office with the Consumer Council for Water, as Chair of
the Wales Committee and Vice Chair of the Board for England and
Wales.
She has direct experience of developing and delivering
strategies and policies that reflect changing needs and aspirations
in a range of diverse environments, including water, food,
transport, housing, customer service and communications, and
publishing. She has extensive knowledge of evidence based policy,
service delivery and improvements for consumers, customers, and the
wider public in Wales, the UK, Europe and internationally.
Diane’s early career was in academia at Middlesex University,
followed by Which? magazine. Later in her own consultancy she
worked with a range of clients, including consumer organisations,
regulators, worldwide NGOs, WHO, FAO and The World Trade
Organisation.
She is a member of Ofwat’s independent working group on
resilience, and in Wales is the Chair of Shelter Cymru.
