Scoping Studies
The paucity of data on mammal abundance and population trends
was highlighted by a 1995 JNCC publication:

Two scoping studies were commissioned to investigate the
feasibility and costs of setting up a mammal surveillance and
monitoring network across the UK, and the survey methods that could
be used for different species.
