Bird population trends in 2013 revealed
The latest results from the Breeding Birds Survey have been published on BTO’s website. This survey relies on the efforts of thousands of volunteer recorders and shows how bird populations are faring in the UK.

30 new Marine Protected Areas for Scotland
Using scientific advice provided by JNCC, 13 new offshore Nature Conservation Marine Protected Areas have been designated in Scotland's waters beyond 12nm. These areas are part of the wider network of 30 MPAs designated to help conserve Scotland's rich marine heritage.
