JNCC took on the UK LIFE National Contact Point service from 01 January 2016. We provide a free and confidential support service for the LIFE Programme in the UK on behalf of Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and the Devolved UK Administrations. Our service includes a helpline, pre-screening of proposals for eligibility and fit and advice on administrative and contractual issues. Below is a summary of some of the services that we provide.

Concept note

The 2017 Call is anticipated to be launched in April with a September deadline so now is the time to start preparing your project.  Please download the concept note template and return it to us via email to enable us to evaluate the eligibility of your proposal.  We have also produced a guidance document to support the completion of the concept note template.

The next deadline for concept notes is the 21st December and we will aim to return comments mid January. We will then schedule a two day Logical Framework Training course for the projects which have a higher chance of success.  Whilst we will review concept notes at any time of the year, applicants will need to make the December deadline to ensure they gain access to our full support services, such as the Logical Framework Training. This also enables us to match up similar projects to avoid direct competition amongst UK bids.

Pre-screening of proposal

We will review draft proposals throughout any stage of the application process.
