JNCC works in partnership with the country conservation
agencies.
JNCC and the country agencies also work together through less
formal Inter-Agency Working Groups. The groups bring together
agency specialists in birds, climate change, earth science,
reptiles and amphibians, invertebrates, marine habitats, marine
mammals, urban habitats and plants.
The inter-agency Science Directors meet as Chief Scientists
Group, supported by the Inter-Agency Science Management Group.
Specialist groups working, for example, on issues such as Air
Pollution or Surveillance, also meet when and for as long as there
is a need.
Country agency specialists will continue to meet and work
together in relation to a wide range of issues relevant to them but
also, as required, on UK issues on behalf of JNCC. Examples include
the consultation on the Quinquennial Review of Schedules 5 and 8 of the
Wildlife & Countryside Act (UK Species page)
